Our Leadership Team
Our Founder & Director
Josefina Beyra is the founder and director of Spectrum Family. After her first son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Josefina recognized the need to disseminate critical information about autism and disabilities in her community. Her organization, Spectrum Family, was established a few years later and has since been successful in promoting awareness and education through her interactive approach.
With a Master’s degree in Art Education and Special Education, Josefina has 12 years of experience as a public school educator. She has extensive experience in experiential event design, marketing, grant writing, and community outreach. Currently, she is working towards her doctorate in arts-based and community-based research, furthering her knowledge and skills in her field.
Josefina’s passion for education in the community and the arts has led her to be a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities and their families. Through Spectrum Family, she brings together local experts in autism related fields in hopes to bridge the gap between the autism community and the wider public, fostering empathy and understanding for individuals with autism and other disabilities. Her unwavering commitment to this cause has made a significant difference in the lives of many families, and her efforts help create a more inclusive and accepting society for all.
